ABCP Certified Simulation Center

We proudly maintain American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) certification and were recently recertified, reinforcing our commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.

Our team undergoes structured training in:

  • Catastrophic event management
  • Emergency responses, including oxygenator failure
  • High-fidelity simulation scenarios

We conduct regular education to maintain confidence, preparedness, and alignment with national standards.

Perfusion Education Program (Pending Candidacy)

Perfusion Solution Inc. is partnering with Methodist College to establish a comprehensive Perfusion Education Program, currently pending candidacy approval with anticipated first class in the Fall of 2027.

Program Structure:

Year 1: Foundational didactic coursework utilizing active learning strategies and high-fidelity simulation.
Year 2: Clinical rotations at leading hospital sites, including Perfusion Solutions–supported locations.

Additional updates will be shared as candidacy progresses.

Clinical Rotation Sites

We support second-year perfusion students from various programs through structured clinical rotations that provide hands-on exposure to:

  • Cardiopulmonary bypass procedures
  • Simulation-based emergency scenarios
  • OR case participation under supervision
  • Real-time physiologic management
  • Our Clinical Instructors receive training on Perfusion Clinical Instruction

Our clinicians work directly with students to build competence and confidence in live surgical environments.

New Graduate Support & Certification Preparation

Upon graduation, new perfusionists receive structured mentorship and board preparation guidance led by Jacob Smith, M.Ed., Director of Education.

Support includes:

  • Exam-focused study materials
  • Exam-taking strategies
  • Targeted material review
  • Coordination with educational representatives
  • Ongoing mentorship and competency development

This transition model helps new professionals enter practice prepared and credentialed.

Company-Wide Journal Club (CEU-Eligible)

Our quarterly Journal Club promotes evidence-based discussion and offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Participants review featured research in advance and join structured virtual discussions that strengthen critical thinking and professional collaboration.

ELSO-Aligned Educational Practices

Our education framework aligns with the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) guidance, ensuring ECMO and cardiac bypass training reflect contemporary best practices.

High-Fidelity Simulation Training

Our simulation program, designed and led by Director of Education Jacob Smith, M.Ed. (PhD candidate), delivers advanced perfusion training through immersive clinical scenarios.

  • E-Sim Pro cannulation simulation
  • Emergency response drills

ECMO Program Management

Perfusion Solution Inc. delivers comprehensive ECMO program management, integrating education, staffing, coordination, and a 24/7 ECMO call center.

  • Education & Training:  ECMO specialist courses, preceptorships, quarterly education, and simulation training for both new and established programs.
  • Turn‑Key ECMO Packages:  Structured program development that includes certification pathways, preceptorship, ongoing education, and continuous support to strengthen ECMO services.
  • Staffing Services:  Experienced ECMO specialists and support personnel available to ensure safe and consistent program coverage.
  • 24/7 ECMO Call Center:  Continuous clinical and technical support with virtual guidance, mentoring, and troubleshooting during active ECMO cases.
